Web Design

In multiple classes I have had the opportunity to learn how to develop a web page from code. By using programs such as Dreamweaver, Brackets, Textwranglar, and Filezilla, ii learned certain skills when writing code in CSS, HTML, and XML. Below is a link of an example of a website that I created using just code.

Research Project

In my Communication Theory class I conducted a research project. My original research was applied to relational dialectics with public displays of affection. I was researching peoples reaction to gay and straight couples.  This project gave me better interviewing skills and a better understanding of diversity and social norms.

PROJECTS

Throughout my career at Weber State University l have gather multiple assignments and projects. These examples are just some of my expertise in many different aspects of my college career. I have had many different types of classes and my skills range and are not limited. Below are some samples that guided me through my success at Weber State University.

Design Projects

The images that are listed below are all made from Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. The elements that I created were for a corporate identity including a logo, business card, envelope and letterhead. Also using the same company there were two ads created one for a newspaper and one for a magazine. The company that I choose was the National Cheerleaders Association.

Video Projects

In one of my communication classes it was the objective to create videos. The videos were created using camera skills that we were taught and taking the video footage and editing it with the program Final Cut. After we finished the video it was mandatory to upload it to YouTube and link it to a blog and present it to the class. Below are links to those videos.

Facilitation

A class I took was Communication 3100, which was Facilitation and Leadership. This was an amazing class that I learned a lot in. A huge part of my grade was to facilitate in Deliberative Democracy Day and run the focus group to provide information to our client. Attached is the document of the final paper that was handed into our client. This allowed me to better my facilitation and leadership skills.

Anti-Gay Hate Speech

In one of the hardest classes I took at Weber State University was Communication Law. A huge part of our grade was a term paper. In this term paper I focused on Anti-Gay Hate Speech. In the document I talk about many cases that inspired me to write the paper. The document is attached below.

Document Design

By working in close contact with a non-profit organization, Ogden School Foundation, I created elements that they needed to be created for there fall author event. This was featuring Anthony Doerr and the Fall Author of the Year and having a Paris, France theme.

TransAthletic

For my LGBT Studies class I had to create a proposal for a research project. I decided to reach out to the public to get there opinion about the rules and regulations set for NCAA transgender athletes. This was to see if the rules are fair for all athletes and if they should change or stay the same.

Style Guide

The Signpost is an award winning newspaper at Weber State University that had an outdated style guide. The project was to revamp the style guide so that it is up-to-date with current WSU standards.
